Blackjack 9 Motor RPM & Amp Draw

Step 1 of converting the Proboat Blackjack 9 from brushed DC to Brushless. Taking RPM and Amp draw measurements of the BJ9 180 size Brushed DC motor for comparison of a compatible Brushless motor and ESC. Its unlikely that all required equipment will fit in the blackjack. If it does it will probably be a submarine due to weight but this is one of the summer projects for the kids along with Miss Geico 17 Brushless conversion, Shockwave 26 upgrade, and Traxxas E Revo mod. New RC Boat UNDERWATER! Proboat Impulse

RC Boat runs underwater. RC boat fail or success? Proboat Impulse 9 spends as much time underwater as it does above. Couldn’t get the boat to perform well on LiPo but its still fun on NiMH once you learn how to run it underwater. It does take on some water after a while and I wouldn’t risk ruining a LiPo but don’t mind dunking it with a NiMH. Proboat Impulse flips, dives, barrel roles and runs underwater.

Proboat Impulse 9 above and below water. Stock running on NiMH. Have larger prop being shipped so hopefully it can run on LiPo without cavitation. Proboat Impulse 9 on 2S LiPo FAIL

Proboat Impulse 9 Modified to fit an E-flite 2S 20C 800mah LiPo. Fail, boat just runs in circles & cavitates due to prop spinning too fast & air void behind V hull. May need to redrill hull to lower prop and or increase prop size. The servo was moved to make room for the LiPo.
