Tool Bags and Boxes I currently use:
With the tools I carry in the Remora Sling I can handle about 95% of the problems I run into. This is my daily cary bag and it’s my preferred choice because it’s not too heavy, it sits upright and I can walk and work handsfree with this sling which is helpful climbing up ladders etc. If I need more then I get the Veto MC but I don’t lug it around everywhere, only when needed.

When I don’t plan on working on an elevator but I want some tools on me just in case. I carry my Fasite Tool Bag Sling. It’s not ideal but it’s adequate and will handle about 80% of any issues I run into. I would prefer something slightly smaller and more flat but have yet to find a suitable alternative.

The Vet Pro Pac MC is my service department tool bag for when I got some for real $#!+ to do. I have a custom open frame crosshead tool box I used just for hwy and door maintenance but since PMs are a thing of the past I retired it. I joke, I joke… or do it?

This Veto MB just didn’t work for me. I found it too aggravating to dig into and get out what I need. It felt like I was prying open an alligators jaws just to dig my hand inside. I much prefer the Remora Sling.
Bags I have but have yet to try or modify for use:
Maxpedition DEP Pouch. I was going to convert it to a sling by adding grommets or sewing a D-Ring but I gave it to one of my sons during a move along with a Remora Sling.

It may be cheaper to get the DeWalt TS 2.0 from Home Depot so check Prices. I have ordered pieces from both HD & Amazon and made a Super Rolling Tower XXL to store Justin’s West Point USMA Awards, Plaques & Plates. It was expensive but money well spent to protect memorabilia. Read More here.

I also bought the less expensive Rigid Pro Tool Storage System (3pc) and while I found it a good value for the price it is certainly a lesser product and less convenient to use. While I prefer the ToughSystem despite the higher cost I can always find an adequate use for a lesser product and that includes the rigid. Same holds true for Pelican Cases vs Seahorse, each has it’s place. Read More here.

Now onto Waterproof Protective Cases (Pelican, Seahorse, Apache, Amazon Basics Case). I don’t always use these cases as protection, sometimes for Custom Panel Mount Electronics.

I store my DE-5000 LCR meter in a Seahorse SE120.
For small electronic tools, external hard drives, etc. I use Seahorse SE120, Pelican 1120 and Apache 1800 Cases. They are all good for protective storage and I don’t have a strong preference. I just buy several of what’s on sale at the time.
